Time Travel to Day Light Savings
As I write this I am still experiencing jet-lag from our mission trip to the Philippines. The Philippines are twelve hours ahead of us and in traveling to and from the Philippines it requires a lot of adjustment. Thus my time travel has altered my schedule immensely. Now it is time to adjust our clocks again for Daylight Savings Time this Sunday morning, November 5th. Will I ever get caught up and adjusted, hopefully so.
The month of November is our traditional Thanksgiving holiday. It is a time where we reflect on the early Pilgrims in this country and the hardships that they endured. They came here as Pilgrims to get a fresh and new start in a new country out from under the tyranny of government in the pursuit of the freedom of religion. It is a great story and unfortunately one that our country is soon forgetting.
As Christians we celebrate a thanksgiving every worship day as we celebrate and thank God for all that He has brought to us through Christ our Lord. As American Christians we also celebrate the traditional holiday with the turkey, dressing, and all the trimmings. It is most appropriate to give God thanks for our country, the freedom to exercise and pursue our faith, and to live in a free society. This is no time to take this for granted because all of these “rights” are being challenged by radical groups in our country through the courts. As you gather with your family for the traditional Thanksgiving meal please honor God through your prayer of thanksgiving to God for all your blessings and remind your family and friends that this is one of the great freedoms, privileges, and honor of living in this great country.
May God bless your Thanksgiving celebration, Bro. Craig
